About UICO

Touchscreen Solutions Built to Perform Where Others Fail

UICO is a global leader in industrial-grade projected capacitive (PCAP) touch technology. We design and manufacture rugged touchscreen solutions that operate reliably in the harshest environments—whether it's extreme temperatures, exposure to water, use with gloves, or high-vibration settings.

Founded on innovation and built for performance, UICO has delivered customized, high-reliability touch interfaces for customers across industrial, medical, military, marine, automotive, and outdoor kiosk markets. We partner closely with OEMs, design firms, and system integrators to engineer touchscreens that meet their most demanding specifications.

What Sets UICO Touch Screens Apart

  • Extreme Environment Expertise: Our touchscreens operate from -40°C to +85°C, with proven performance in wet, dusty, and high-impact environments.

  • Glove & Water Touch Capability: UICO’s touchscreens work flawlessly with thick gloves, rain, and liquid interference, enabling seamless operation in real-world conditions.

  • Custom Engineered Solutions: From 1” to 86”, we support custom cover lens, optical bonding, and integration support—designed to fit your product, not the other way around.

  • High-Mix, Low-Volume Friendly: We support projects of all sizes and provide responsive engineering and customer support from our headquarters outside Chicago.

  • Made to Last: Designed for industrial lifecycles, our touchscreens offer long-term availability, robust construction, and consistent quality.

UICO'S MISSION

🌍 Mission & Purpose

  • Empower interaction in harsh environments: UICO develops touchscreen technology capable of operating under extreme temperatures (–40 °C to +85 °C), in rain, snow, water exposure, or through thick gloves—ensuring usability even under adverse conditions

  • Engineer tailored solutions: They work closely with OEMs and system integrators to create custom touchscreen, cover lens, and bonding solutions—from 1″ to 86″ sizes—optimized for each customer's unique operational demands

  • Deliver durability and longevity: UICO emphasizes long-life availability, consistent quality, and rugged construction designed for industrial lifecycles, with a strong quality management system certified to ISO 9001

  • Provide accessible engineering support: With US-based engineering and global bonding capabilities (optical, perimeter, tape, etc.), UICO offers responsive support even for high-mix, low-volume projects

💡 Origin & Vision

Founded in 2007 (or 2008), UICO set out with a vision to bring the touchscreen experience familiar from smartphones into markets where those interfaces don’t normally work—like industrial, marine, medical, and military applications. Their goal: solve the toughest touch challenges, such as false inputs from water, in-situ glove use, and extreme temperatures

Mission Summary

UICO exists to develop and deliver high-performance, rugged touchscreen solutions—under its duraTOUCH® technology—that work reliably in environments where standard PCAP screens fall short. They achieve this by combining cutting-edge touch algorithms with flexible engineering, world-class quality standards, and responsive customer support.
